My name is Zhen Liu (pronounced as “Jen Liu”). I am a PhD candidate in Preston Innovation Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Rice University, advised by Prof. Daniel J. Preston. I am currently working on understanding, controlling, and leveraging airborne molecular contamination on surfaces that affects fluid behavior and phase-change heat transfer, as well as developing hot-water-repellent superhydrophobic surfaces. My research generally focuses on surface and interfacial phenomena, fluidic dynamics, and heat transfer.
